Baseball (English baseball), also called baseball or base ball, 1 is a team sport played between two teams of nine players each.

It is considered one of the most popular sports in Australia, Canada, Colombia, South Korea, Cuba, United States, Holland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, South Africa, Taiwan and Venezuela. The countries powers of the sport are concentrated in the Americas (North, Central, Caribbean) and in Asia, where the European and African continents laggards. But Europe has two good examples (Netherlands and Italy); and Africa only include the selection of South Africa, which has some good talent.

It is played on a large fully covered by natural or artificial turf field, with the exception of the area called Corridor line, where the offensive players race to reach the bases (located at the vertices of the area homer called diamond) and score well as the area of the caster (where the ground is a ridge of land).

The goal is to hit a ball with a bat (bat), moving through the field and run for the infield dirt trying to reach as many potential bases to turn the base from where he hit (home) and achieve both known and score the race while defensive players seeking a ball hit to eliminate the player who hit the ball or other racers before they reach first at any of the bases or get career scoring (see Rules for details the game).

The team scoring the most runs at the end of nine (9) episodes, called innings (or inputs) that lasts the meeting is who wins. If at the end of the nine regular innings a marker persists matched racing, the game runs as necessary to be a winner, according to the basic rules of the game there is a tie, allowed only amateurs and children's leagues to limit wear of the players.

Unlike other sports that are played with ball, such as football, which is also known as football, or basketball aka basketball; although "baseball" could be translated into Spanish, the custom of using their form of English root, could give the impression of a strange name phonetically: the translation should serpelotabase or bolabase, although in some Spanish-speaking countries will usually referred to colloquially as the ballgame or simply ball.

On the other hand, one of the characteristics that differentiate other baseball team sports, is that this defense is the one with the ball.
